Drum #116-21A "Ohio Wild Cherry"

Drum Description:

This is the 21st drum in my A-series 10 inch drumhead diameter drums.

The drum shell is made up of five laminated wood layers. The outside layer is made from some very special old growth wild cherry wood. This wood came from the farm I was raised on near Farmington, Ohio ("sacred wood").

The four inside layers are made from some nice straight-grained pine.

The steel anchor band and tuning hooks were electro-plated with polished brass.

The tuning nuts, Thread Caps, and hold-down band are solid brass.

I form every thing in my shop except the electroplating.

The sound qualities are very good considering the smaller size. A rich and deep sounding bass, wonderful tones, slaps, and high ringing rim shots.

The size of this drum allows it to be played conveniently on your lap. You can also play it standing by fixing a shoulder strap to it. The drum could be used as a floor drum for children sitting on a short chair or stool. The drum is light weighing in at only six pounds.
